So you may be wondering, why ANOTHER Substack? My main Substack, Wholistic, is quite packed with material, but much of it is, well, inflammatory and controversial.
I have already spun off a modest and sporadic spiritual Substack, Sufis, which delves into questions about the nature of reality and God…and includes some fun little Sufi stories I’ve been concocting with the help of AI.
But I have more to say about alternative medicine and healing, and felt it might be better to just give it its own space, so people who are interested in learning about it, without all the other drama, can sign up and get a break from the public health controversies of the day.
On a more practical note, I have 30+ homework assignments to do for an herbalism certification I am completing, and I thought I might as well post them publicly since they have some useful info.
I also want to build a collection of herbal monographs (descriptions) as a resource. These will be placed in the Apothecary section. Some of these things will be a bit dry but hopefully useful.
(In the interests of full disclosure, while a lot of people are freaking out about AI, I will be using AI to help build the curated herbal monograph library. I’ve got some great AI writing tools that enable me to be more of an editor, and I enjoy using the tools in this way.)
By the way, almost everything will be free, except possibly some courses in the future. But if you want to support this endeavor now, I’ve left the default subscription available and will offer some bonuses here and there. This also enables me to keep the subscription of the original Wholistic Substack dirt cheap.
Will you need to pay to subscribe to all three Substacks for perks? Not really, but I might offer different things to each publication while also sharing perks across all three…I’m still sorting that out, though.
Before I forget: Thanks again for those of you who have supported my first Substack, I really appreciate it, and don’t worry I haven’t forgotten you nor expect you to pay AGAIN.
OK, that’s all for housekeeping and welcomes. I’ll be posting some of my herbal homework soon. :-)
(For some reason Substack wanted me to share the referral button on my first post. Here it is.)
This is your substack that most interests me Stephanie. I have a background in horticulture, botany and edible wild plants.
Fantastic! I love everything you write about.
